The process of making custom made devices.
1. A musculoskeletal assessment determines if a custom-made foot orthotic is required. Often changes in footwear are all that is required to treat foot pain. Many people do not require a custom foot orthotic to treat foot pain.
2. Orthotic materials are dictated by:
-
Persons body weight
-
Footwear used
-
Foot function - hypermobile or rigid foot structure.
3. A non-weight bearing Plaster-of-Paris cast of your feet is taken. It is used to make a custom made orthotic.
4. Our custom foot orthotics are made to the highest quality.
5. Being made from a cast of your foot. We can use materials that are more durable and provide excellent stability. This is particularly important if you require midfoot stability in conditions such as plantar fasciitis, lateral foot pain - peroneal pathology, Moreton's neuroma or ball of foot pain.
6. These orthotics can provide medial and lateral rearfoot stability. Help promote normal foot function and limit excessive motion.
Off-the-shelf Orthotics ($90 -$150).
We dispense a wide variety of off-the- shelf modifiable foot orthotics.
Which are commonly used in children and foot problems where the podiatrist believes they are appropriate. Depending on an individual foot structure, function and that individuals foot problems.

TENDONITIS
Foot orthotics can improve the line of pull of tendons and improve their mechanical advantage. This includes tibialis posterior tendonitis and dysfunction which is seen in middle aged women.
-
FOOT ULCERS
Foot orthotics are commonly used to reduce plantar pressure in neuropathic ulcers.
-
PAINFUL RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
Custom foot orthotics are recommended in the treatment of people with Rheumatoid Arthritis to reduce pressure to the ball of the foot pressure in high arch foot types.
-
PAIN 1st METATARSOPHALANGEAL JOINT - BUNION PAIN.
